Cadet Grace Bramhall, a senior at Winnacunnet High School in Hampton, NH, was awarded the 2026 Captain Ryan Phaneuf Memorial Fund Academic Scholarship. Throughout her academic career and participation in the Marine Corps JROTC program, she has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to academic excellence, leadership, resilience, and service to her school and community. Grace exemplifies the values of service, leadership, and integrity through her involvement in Marine Corps JROTC, where she has been a leader in community service projects, the Color Guard, Marksmanship Team, and summer leadership camps. She is an active member of the National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, and Robotics Club, while also competing in field hockey, lacrosse, and serving as co-captain of the girls' tennis team. Balancing these demanding commitments, Grace worked multiple jobs throughout high school, including positions in the restaurant industry before pursuing her passion as a commissioned mural artist, demonstrating exceptional work ethic, perseverance, and time management. All while getting her certification as a drone pilot and putting in the work up to her solo in her pursuit of a private pilots license. Driven by a lifelong passion for aviation and space exploration, Grace plans to pursue an engineering degree before attending Officer Training School and earning her wings as a pilot in the United States Air Force. Following her military service, she hopes to combine her aviation and engineering experience in a career with organizations such as NASA or Lockheed Martin. Having overcome significant personal adversity with remarkable resilience and determination, Grace remains committed to using her experiences to positively impact others while pursuing a career dedicated to service, leadership, and aviation.
Cadet Captain Lacie Plante, a senior at Keene High School in Keene, NH, was awarded the 2026 Captain Ryan Phaneuf Memorial Fund Academic Scholarship. Throughout her academic career and involvement with the Fall Mountain Regional High School Army JROTC Wildcat Battalion, she has demonstrated an exceptional commitment to academic excellence, leadership, service, and personal responsibility. Lacie exemplifies the values of service, leadership, and integrity through her role as the Battalion Public Affairs Officer and senior Cadet Liaison Officer to Keene High School. She previously served as a Platoon Leader, Platoon Sergeant, and Squad Leader, while competing on the JROTC Academic, Drill, and Archery Teams, including participation in the 2025 JROTC Leadership and Academic Bowl National Championship in Washington, D.C. A High Honors student with a 3.94 GPA, Lacie has also been an active member of 4-H, the 4-H Youth Leadership Team, the Cheshire County Advisory Council, the NH 4-H Ag Ambassadors, and her school’s Yearbook staff. Her commitment to serving others extends well beyond school through years of community service, including Cheshire Fair and highway clean-ups, Community Kitchen volunteering, Thanksgiving food drives, and numerous local charitable events. Driven by a passion for helping others, Lacie has balanced her academics, leadership responsibilities, and community service while working up to 32 hours per week since the eighth grade. She has gained valuable healthcare experience as an Environmental Services Aide, Ward Aide, and Licensed Nursing Assistant, while completing Medical Terminology, Psychology, and Statistics coursework and earning her LNA certification. She will attend the University of New Hampshire, where she plans to major in Nursing, participate in Army ROTC, and ultimately serve as a military nurse, combining her dedication to healthcare with a lifelong commitment to serving her country.
